1. Purpose & Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines acceptable practices for the use of cloud hosting services, web space, virtual infrastructure, domain names, and email systems provided by Arcos Host ("Arcos Host", "we", "us").
By subscribing to or using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP. A breach of this policy threatens the security and IP reputation of our cloud clusters and constitutes grounds for immediate suspension or termination of services without refund.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not host, transmit, link to, or store any content that involves or promotes:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Absolute zero tolerance. Any detection will result in immediate termination, service erasure, and mandatory reporting to law enforcement and relevant reporting agencies (such as NCMEC).
- Malware & Cyber Threats: Trojans, keyloggers, botnets, malicious scripts, exploits, phishing pages, credential harvesting kits, or cryptojacking code.
- Intellectual Property Infringement: Distribution of pirated media, unauthorized copies of software, counterfeit merchandise, or torrent track sites without verifiable copyright holder authorization.
- Terrorism, Violence & Hate Speech: Material inciting violence, terrorism, racial hatred, or unlawful discrimination.
- Fraudulent Schemes: Ponzi schemes, HYIP sites, illegal gambling hubs, deceptive escrow services, or online identity fraud.
3. Zero Tolerance for Spam & Outbound Email Rules
Arcos Host operates an isolated, high-reputation email delivery infrastructure. To ensure that legitimate client transactional and business correspondence reaches inboxes without blacklisting:
- Zero Spam Tolerance: Sending Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) or mass bulk marketing messages (Spam) is strictly prohibited.
- Purchased or Scraped Lists: Mailing to third-party, scraped, rented, or appended email lists is entirely forbidden. All marketing recipients must have explicitly opted in via confirmed double opt-in verification.
- Hourly Sending Caps: Cloud web hosting accounts are subject to outbound sending thresholds (maximum 300 emails per hour per domain) to protect server IP hygiene. High-volume marketing newsletters must utilize dedicated transactional ESPs (e.g. Mailgun, SendGrid, Amazon SES).
- Open Relays & Misconfigured Scripts: Operating open mail relays or unauthenticated contact forms vulnerable to spam injection is prohibited.
4. Network & System Security Violations
You must not engage in any activity that compromises our cloud network or third-party networks, including:
- Attempting unauthorized access to any server, cluster node, database, or customer account ("hacking", penetration testing without written consent).
- Conducting port scans, network vulnerability probes, or denial-of-service (DDoS) simulations against external targets or our platform.
- Running background persistent daemons, IRC bots, automated scraping engines, proxy servers, or cryptocurrency mining tools on cloud infrastructure resources.
- Forging IP packet headers, DNS entries, or sender identity information.
5. Resource Abuse & Fair Use Safeguards
While Arcos Host cloud plans feature unmetered traffic and scalable storage, cloud web hosting accounts must operate within reasonable fair use bounds:
- Sustained Processor Overload: Sustained background execution consuming over 10% of total cluster compute capacity degrades neighboring accounts. Sites with chronic database or script bottlenecks will be notified to optimize code or transition to managed cloud server environments.
- Storage Policy: Hosting accounts must not be used as offsite backup repositories, public video storage mirrors, or non-web file distribution hubs.
- Unattended Inactive Mailboxes: Email accounts unused for over 100 consecutive days are subject to automatic space recovery.
6. Enforcement, Investigation & Remediation
Arcos Host utilizes automated Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and real-time malware scanners. Upon discovery or notification of an AUP violation:
- Investigation & Isolation: If malicious activity, spamming, or an active security breach is detected, we reserve the right to immediately isolate or suspend the affected domain or account to prevent further harm to the network.
- Client Notification: A support ticket will be opened detailing the detected violation with instructions for remediation, unless the violation involves egregious criminal acts.
- Termination: Repeated violations, willful neglect, or failure to remediate compromised code within 48 hours will result in permanent account termination without refund.
7. Reporting Abuse
If you wish to report spam, phishing, intellectual property violations, or abusive behavior originating from an Arcos Host IP address or hosted domain, please contact our abuse department immediately:
